Get a Full Rick/Cord Guaranteed!

Since October of 2010, Nashville Firewood has strived to give our customers the very best quality firewood at the most affordable price. Some of the competition may short you on your firewood purchase by upwards of 25% or more. A lot of times competitors will stack a rick just 6 inches short on the vertical and horizontal axis, this means you will be shorted by 18% (or 7.75 cubic feet of wood) and this doesn't even take into account if the wood is cut to a shorter length, or stacked loose as well. We have seen many of people over the years try to sell 1/2 or 3/4 as a full rick. One of the many things that separates Nashville Firewood from the competition is we give you a full rick, every time, guaranteed... we even throw in a few extra pieces each time just to be sure, if we make any error it's probably in your favor. But if by chance we do happen to short you by anything, we'll give you twice the missing pieces next time absolutely free! or refund you for the difference no questions asked.

Oak Firewood

Our top selling firewood Oak, makes for a very hot fire, but that is not what makes it so special… Oak has the longest burn time of any firewood in Tennessee. This makes oak a great firewood for wood stoves and camping/bonfires. Oak's one major caveat is it's difficult to start with larger pieces (small pieces are easy) and it can take up to 1.5 hours (in an indoor fireplace) to reach peak heat level; For this reason oak is not recommended for fires shorter than 2 hours. But if you are looking for the most burn for their buck, Oak is where it's at.

Long Cut, Extended Burn Oak Firewood

Oak has the longest burn time of any firewood in Tennessee, but with our long cut, extended burn oak firewood you get even more burn time and even more burn for your buck. The extended burn oak is a great for large fireplaces, campfires, bonfires, and larger wood-stoves due to its longer 20-24 inch length. Another reason for the longer burn is that its made up exclusively of white oak which has more closed cells than other varieties of oak, giving it you more burn time and BTU's than any oak in Tennessee. Get up to 1.75X the total BTU's than are standard oak.

Walnut Firewood

Walnut is a great firewood for anyone wanting an easy to make, clean burning wood with a shorter burn time. We recommend it for anyone wanting short entertainment fires in an indoor/outdoor fireplace and burn pit but still want it to pack some heat. Not recommended to use for cooking due to having a mild toxins at close range that could be harmful when cooking. When burning it can put off a green flame vary similar to that of burning a full color magazine; other than that it makes great fireplace wood and looks beautiful too.

Hickory Firewood

Hickory is the fifth highest BTU rated wood in the USA, and the third in middle Tennessee. Hickory is best known for BBQ but it is also great for heating home especially with a wood stove. Hickory burns up to 2x longer and 3x hotter than our standard mixed firewood. A couple things to remember when buying Hickory is it actually burns hotter when it's wet/green, and has an incredibly short storage life; so we recommend that hickory is used within the first four months after production.

Cherry Firewood

Cherry is one of the best firewoods for cooking and smoking. It has a much more distinct flavor and smell compared to other cooking woods. It's also easy to start, and burns extremely hot, and Cherry looks great too, it might just be our most attractive firewood we sell. We do not recommend using Cherry if you have asthma or are sensitive to strong smells, because Cherry has a nice, sweet, but potent smell.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much firewood can i fit in my vehicle?

A standard car/sedan usually can fit about 1/4 rick (4x2) of wood stacked in the trunk.

An SUV can usually fit between 1/4 rick to 2/3 rick (4x6) of firewood.

Most pickup trucks with a 6ft bed can hold 1 rick (4x8) to 1-1/4 rick (4x10) of wood.

Is your firewood split in half or quarters?

Our firewood is split from logs ranging from 5” to 55” in diameter, so we try to split our firewood to a manageable size that you can easily pick a piece up with just one hand; usually it's about 2-4" diameter pieces.

Do I need fresh or seasoned firewood?

It all comes down to your personal use for the firewood; If you are smoking/cooking with your firewood, you actually need green wood so that it will put off more smoke and flavor then if it were dry. On the other hand if you’re heating your house with wood you will need it to be simi-seasoned for maximum heat, while you may want your wood to be dry for an easy start if you’re just having a short fire for entertaining.

How long does it take to season wood?

We have all heard it takes 6-12 months for wood to season… but that is only partially true, if you live in the northern United States and Canada. Because there are so many variables that go into drying firewood it may take longer to dry out if the wood is split in the colder parts of the year then the moisture won’t have any heat to evaporate the moisture in the wood, If it’s covered with a tarp, it may also take longer because air can’t circulate and the moisture can’t escape. Some types of wood (like oak) may take longer to dry out, while other types of wood (like hickory) may take far less time to dry out. We recommend for most wood to be split and uncovered for 1-4 months of 70º-95º heat for the best fire and heat results.
